Tech Sgt. Waldo C. Jensen Technical Sgt. Waldo C. Jensen was listed as a resident of Langley Field, VA. He was born in Riverton, Iowa, in 1908 and was the oldest member of the crew. After two years of high school in Harlan, Iowa, he decided to join the army. His record of fourteen years in the service included a three year term on the island of Corregidor in the Philippines, which at the time of his death was under heavy siege by Japanese military forces. He had been recently transferred to the Army Air Corps where he was a member of the ground service crew of Squadron B33. He was survived by a wife, Lauretta, who lived at Langley Field, and a four year old daughter, La Von. Arrangements were made for his remains to be returned to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, where the parents of his wife made their home. His in-laws were Mr. & Mrs. Dyer, of that city. As his wife and daughter were living at Langley Field, he listed Langley as his "hometown" when he had enlisted. --M.S, July 1995 Back to "A Follow Up"
