ETEC 500 Final

5. What skill did you learn in ETEC 500 that you think will be most
useful to you? Explain why you chose this skill and how you anticipate
using it.
The skill that I learned in ETEC
500 that I think will be the most useful to me has been learning how to
put my website on the internet and adding to it. SeaMonkey has made it
easier to an extent because I can actually see what I'm doing and
whether or not I like what I've done before I post my work on the
internet. My goal is to continue adding the necessary requirements for
the ETEC program as well as adding things that spark my interest, where
I've
been on vacation, and anything that might strike my fancy at various
points
in my life.
6.
What was the hardest part of ETEC 500. Why was it the hardest and how
did you deal with it?
The hardest part of ETEC 500 has
been getting the nuts and bolts together for the second week of class
and then to actually get my website posted for the very first time in
10 years. To say the least, I was extremely stressed out while getting
many sleepless nights trying to figure out how I was going to get the
website posted on the internet. Needless to say, my dad made a phone
call to the internet company and got the necessary information I would
need to put my website on the internet. I also needed to learn patience
and wait for the second week of class so the patient professor could
explain what was needed to actually put the website on the internet.
7. What does ADDIE stand for in the context
of ETEC 500 and the ETEC program?
ADDIE
stands for Analysis, Development, Design, Implementation, Evaluation.
In class we have been taught that we need to have evidences of
investigation, engagement, and reflection for all the assignments that
we do through out this class as well as the program. All professors
within the program need to know where we were before the assignment,
how we gained knowledge through the assignment, and what we learned (or
could do better) through the assignment.
8. Imagine for a moment that you are
getting ready to graduate from the ETEC program. Would you choose a
Design and Development project, a research project, or would you choose
the comprehensive exam? Explain your answer.
If
I were ready to graduate from the ETEC program, I would choose the
Design and Development project because I am simply better at projects.
I don't do well with research projects because I don't always know
where to look or exactly what I need to be looking for. The
comprehensive exam is simple -- if I can't pass the CBEST after
about 20 times, why on earth would I subject myself to another test
that I most likely will not do well on?
9.
What skills, attitudes and behaviors are associated with "instructional
technologists"?
Skills
Attitudes
Behaviors
10.
Of the skills, attitudes and behaviors you listed in response to
question 9, which will be the most difficult for you? Explain why.
The
one skill that could be the most difficult for me as a first and/or second year Instructional Technologist would be
re-inventing the wheel from what the previous Instructional
Technologists have done because there are known cases in which
materials are lost, non-existent, or they were never invented.
Materials might not be adopted because of the difficulties or expense
of securing the materials and then revising the materials to fit the
needs of the individuals that are going to need the materials.
