AP Calculus teaches university level Calculus to secondary students who are ready to begin the study of the Calculus.  The College Board sets the topics to be covered and provides an examination in May to verify completion and understanding of the material by students. The State of California has also defined its Standards for Calculus.

This course has two distinct goals:

Both examinations are demanding.  The BC examination covers all of the material on the AB examination plus four other topics (Taylor series approximations, Euler approximations, polar and vector applications, and parametric applications).
