Children’s Ministry
Jesus said: "I tell
you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you
will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles
himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And
whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.”
Matthew
18:2-5
All Saints’ Children’s program, from the nursery through elementary
grades, endeavors to teach the children of God’s love for them, their
need to be in relationship with Jesus as their Lord and Savior through
baptism and the Eucharist, and to embrace them as an important part of
our whole community of worship.
Our
Children’s program is fully supported by dedicated volunteers, the
clergy, vestry and staff. We all agree that our children are the church
of today as well as of the future.
Sunday mornings – Church School and Eucharist
In our nursery the tiny ones are loved and cared for by a trained
preschool teacher and her helpers.
The preschool children are taught of God’s love for them, also by a
trained preschool teacher. They join their families in church for the
Eucharist and blessing.
Kindergarten though 5th grade students attend Sunday Church
School and Children’s Chapel. Our beautiful St. Elizabeth’s Children’s
Chapel is a focal point of worship for our children. Stained glass
windows, depicting Noah’s ark and Jesus with the children, adorn this
sacred space, and here they learn of Christ’s love for them through
Scripture, teaching and song and also become acquainted with our worship
traditions. Joining their families in the main church for the Eucharist,
the children receive blessing and spiritual nourishment.
