Christ Our Savior
Anglican Church, Torrance

In response to the vision God gave All Saints' Anglican Church to plant Biblically orthodox, evangelical Anglican churches wherever the need, we felt led to Torrance, California, as a strategic city destined to lead our church planting efforts. The slogan for the City of Torrance is 'Balance - industrial, commercial and residential'.  In line with that civic slogan, All Saints' is sponsoring the plant of this 'balanced church' in the city of Torrance to be a launching pad for other Anglican church planting efforts throughout southern California.

As we seek a permanent structure and address, we have begun meeting on alternate Wednesday evenings in the home of Tom and Anita Winfrey since June 27, 2007. Our meeting dates for the next few months are:

  • September 5 - Our first public service at the Torrance Library, 6:30. Please come!
  • September 19
  • October 3
  • October 17
  • October 31.

Bring your supper if you're coming from work. We begin worship, book study, Bible study and Holy Eucharist at 7:00 pm.  See the Contacts info below for details.

Our Core Values

There are seven non-negotiable core values of Christ Our Savior Anglican Church that describe who we are in Christ, what we do in the name of Christ and for Christ:

  1. Eucharistically centered in accordance with Matthew 26:26-29
  2. Evangelical in our mission as stated in Matthew 28:18-20
  3. Biblically orthodox according to Joshua 1:8
  4. Loving, hospitable and generous as taught in Hebrews 13:1-2
  5. Firmly together in fellowship as provided in Hebrews 10:25
  6. Faithful in prayer and worship as taught in Ephesians 6:18
  7. Willing to take risks based on the examples found in Acts 20:22

Vision Statement

The vision of Christ Our Savior Anglican Church is as follows:

  • to become a church whose doors are always open and welcoming to all
  • to reach the last, the least and the lost of Torrance and the neighboring cities and disciple them through relational ministries, enlisting them to serve the Lord in various callings
  • to turn our passion into action and become true servant leaders within our community
  • to become a beacon of light in the community where the Holy Spirit is alive and working in all of our lives
  • to plant at least one church every three years in surrounding communities throughout southern California

Mission Statement:

Ours is a congregation of balanced Christians united in Christ, having been redeemed by His blood, resting in His household and focused on rescuing all who are perishing, one soul at a time. In so doing, we are committed to the following ministries:

  1. provide Eucharistically centered, Biblically based, Godly worship
  2. become disciples of Christ, evangelizing and making others disciples of Christ
  3. develop small group ministries designed to meet the needs of the congregation and the community

Strategic Summary

Worship services shall be Eucharistic and evangelical, giving everyone the opportunity to respond to the call to encounter Christ through His many blessings of salvation, sanctification, healing, deliverance and provision.

This serves as the industry (or ministry) where believers are made through praise, worship, prayer, preaching, sound Biblical teaching and Eucharist.

There shall be small groups and house churches where believers can be open to one another, partake of Holy Communion and minister to one another in their needs.  Located at various parts of the South Bay area, small groups provide opportunities for accountability, further nurturing and growth in the faith journey of all participants.

In small groups, believers can rest in His household, being surrounded by fellow vulnerable small group members.  Examples of small group ministries:

  • children's ministry
  • Youth and young adult ministry
  • men's ministry
  • women's ministry
  • young family ministry
  • marriage enrichment department
  • choir and worship music
  • pastoral care

Each member of Christ Our Savior Church is encouraged to become a member of a ministry team.  Here everyone shall be able to serve the Lord and lead others in a team relevant to his or her God-given gifts, to win souls for Christ.  These teams shall include hospital visitation, children's ministry, lay Eucharistic ministry, single-parent ministry, prisons ministry, ministry to the homeless, CEO breakfast meetings, hotel ministries, evangelism and others.

In all of these ministries, members are using their gifts to rescue the lost and those in need through a relational ministry.

All are welcomed and shall be well cared for at Christ Our Savior Anglican Church, Torrance, CA. This is the right place to be at home with the Lord.
