In addition to ministry opportunities during our worship services, we have groups that minister to our parish family in other ways. Here are some of them. Good Shepherd Ministry The Good Shepherd Ministry is a group of parishioners who have responded to Christ’s call to “feed the hungry, visit the sick, and do unto others as we would have them to unto us.” They work together as a team to assist anyone in need at times of illness, death in the family, during a move, or at the arrival of a baby. They send cards, provide meals, supply transportation to church or to doctors, visit those in the hospital or nursing home, and visit shut ins at home. Contact the parish office for assistance or to become involved. Kitchen Guild The kitchen guild prepares meals for all major church functions. This may include the annual meeting in January, Easter morning breakfast and luncheons for various celebrations during the year. Lay Eucharistic Visitors Lay Eucharist Ministers are responsible for taking communion to parishioners who for health reasons are unable to attend church. They are elected from the congregation and receive special training from the Associate Rector. Vestry The vestry is the twelve-member lay governing body of All Saints'. The members are elected from and by the congregation on an annual rotation and serve for a three-year term. Vestry duties include oversight of all financial affairs as well as building and grounds maintenance. They, with the Rector, also make parish policy and set parish goals. Each member is also responsible for overseeing a particular ministry within the church. Wedding Guild
The Wedding Guild handles the altar
arrangements and assists the bridal couple and wedding party on the day of
the wedding. |
